With six matchups involving Southeastern Conference teams on the docket, here’s a list of the players to watch in each SEC game for Week 6 (all kickoff times are for Eastern Standard Time):

Noon ET, New Mexico State at No. 14 Ole Miss, SEC NETWORK

Jaylen Walton, RB, Ole Miss

The Rebels have struggled to find a consistent run game this season, especially against SEC teams. A non-conference meeting against New Mexico State should be a recipe for building some confidence in the Ole Miss backfield, so expect a run-heavy game plan in this contest. Walton has been the Rebels’ most effective runner so far this season, rushing for 292 yards and 3 touchdowns while averaging 5.7 yards per carry.

3:30 p.m. ET, No. 7 LSU at South Carolina (Game will be held in Baton Rouge due to flooding in S.C.), ESPN

Brandon Wilds, RB, South Carolina

Wilds is a fifth-year senior who has missed the Gamecocks’ last two games with bruised ribs, and South Carolina’s ground game has suffered as a result. Quarterback Lorenzo Nunez has led the Gamecocks in rushing the last three weeks as South Carolina has struggled to find a suitable replacement for Wilds. But in Week 2 against Kentucky, Wilds showed his ability by averaging 6.6 yards per carry on his way to 106 yards on the ground.

3:30 p.m. ET, No. 19 Georgia at Tennessee, CBS

Jalen Hurd, RB, Tennessee

Not that anyone has to be told to watch a runner like Hurd, who currently ranks sixth in the SEC with 492 rushing yards and has found the end zone 7 times this season for the Volunteers. But Hurd’s skill will be needed more than ever as Tennessee takes on an angry Georgia squad that is coming off a 38-10 loss at home to Alabama. The Bulldogs had a hard time stopping Crimson Tide running back Derrick Henry, so look for the Volunteers to attack on the ground as well.

4 p.m. ET, Troy at Mississippi State, SEC NETWORK

Cedric Jiles, CB, Mississippi State

With senior cornerback Will Redmond questionable for this non-conference game with an ankle injury, Jiles could be in line for more snaps against Troy in Week 6. Jiles and fellow junior cornerback Tolando Cleveland will have to step up if Redmond, who leads the Bulldogs with 2 interceptions, can’t go against the Trojans’ pass-heavy offense.

7 p.m. ET, Arkansas at No. 8 Alabama, ESPN

Reggie Ragland, LB, Alabama

As a senior middle linebacker, Ragland is the leader of the Crimson Tide defense and considered one of the best at what he does in college football. It’s no secret that Arkansas is going to want to feed the ball to its star running back Alex Collins, so Ragland could be extra busy in Week 6. Ragland is a hard hitter that will be playing on Sundays next year.

7:30 p.m. ET, No. 11 Florida at Missouri, SEC NETWORK

Will Grier, QB, Florida

The Gators freshman quarterback had the best game of his college career so far in last week’s 38-10 win in The Swamp over Ole Miss, completing 24 of 29 passes for 271 yards and 4 touchdowns. Don’t look now, but Grier has Florida at 5-0 and is putting together an incredibly impressive season for a player his age. Grier has thrown 10 touchdowns to just 3 interceptions this season and his 67.2 completion percentage ranks 2nd in the SEC.
