SEC Kickoff: Players to watch Week 14
With eight matchups involving Southeastern Conference teams on the docket, here’s a list of the player to watch in each SEC game for Week 14:
Friday, Nov. 28
2:30 p.m. Arkansas at No. 17 Missouri, CBS
Shane Ray, DE, Missouri
Missouri looks to claim its second consecutive SEC East title with a win on Saturday. Ray leads the SEC with 12 sacks and 19.5 tackles for loss.
Saturday, Nov. 29
12:00 p.m. Kentucky at No. 22 Louisville, ESPN 2
Patrick Towles, QB, Kentucky
Towles needs to have a big performance for Kentucky to end its bowl drought. The Wildcats are 4-1 when Towles has thrown for over 200 yards and 2-1 when he’s thrown multiple touchdowns.
12:00 p.m. South Carolina at No. 21 Clemson, ESPN
Mike Davis, RB, South Carolina
Davis enters what could be his last regular season game as a college football player. The junior is seventh in the SEC with 888 rushing yards.
12:00 p.m. No. 16 Georgia Tech at No. 9 Georgia, SEC NETWORK
Nick Chubb, RB, Georgia
Chubb has emerged as one of the best backs in the SEC. The true freshman has recorded over 100 yards in each game since being name the starter in Week 7.
3:30 p.m. No. 4 Mississippi State at No. 19 Ole Miss, CBS
Josh Robinson, RB, Mississippi State
Robinson hasn’t recorded over 100 yards since Week 9 against Kentucky. But the SEC’s third leading rusher may be due facing rival Ole Miss on Saturday.
3:30 Florida at No. 3 Florida State, ESPN
Jameis Winston, QB, FSU
The most talked about player in college football faces an SEC team for the first time since the BCS Championship Game. Whether you love him or hate him, Winston will gain the most attention in Saturday’s game.
4:00 p.m. Tennessee at Vanderbilt, SEC NETWORK
Jalen Hurd, RB, Tennessee
Jalen Hurd has surpassed his previous season-best rushing total five times this season, with his highest output coming against South Carolina in Week 10. The true freshman should end his first regular season on a high note in a matchup against a struggling Vanderbilt defense.
7:45 p.m. No. 15 Auburn at No. 1 Alabama, ESPN
Blake Sims, QB, Alabama
Iron Bowl. Auburn vs. Alabama. The stakes are high for the Crimson Tide, who look to capture a victory en route to a College Football Playoff berth. Sims will need to have a solid performance in what should be a tough rivalry game.
