Prop bets for the SEC’s fifth Saturday:

LEONARD FOURNETTE’S NUMBERS VS. EASTERN MICHIGAN

Options — Less than 100 yards; Between 101-199; Between 200-244; More than 244

Projection: For the record, I don’t think Fournette will play more than two quarters this weekend against college football’s worst defense, but if he does, it could get ugly. The Heisman favorite and SEC’s leading rusher would’ve surpassed 350 yards rushing during last week’s win over Syracuse had an 87-yard touchdown run not been called back as well as two other gallops spanning more than 20 yards. He’s been an unstoppable freak with the football this season with 21 broken tackles over his first three starts. Keeping him healthy is top priority right now for Les Miles and his work could be limited on Saturday. Just under 180 yards is a safe bet.

HOW MANY TIMES WILL VERNE STUMBLE OVER NAMES IN ATHENS

Options — None (he’s perfect); 1 (early in the game); 2 (we’re approaching Verne-lore); 3 or more (greatness)

Projection: They get better with age. That’s true for announcers too right? Like him or not, Verne Lundquist has been an SEC staple on CBS for several decades, calling some of the league’s greatest games and highlighting countless memorable plays. His ‘Vernegasms’ make for good TV and he’s already given us one of his best ever earlier this season when he said LSU punter Jamie Keehn was 76 years old. We love Verne, but guessing how many mispronunciations he’ll say Saturday between the hedges is a fun bet. Is it Sony Michelle, Michel or Michael? Arduous or Ardarius Stewart? I’ll go with two and I can promise we’ll have the audio.

WHO SCORES THE FIRST POINTS AT KYLE FIELD

Options — Mississippi State via FG; Texas A&M via FG; Mississippi State via TD; Texas A&M via TD

Projection: Probably the prop bet that receives the most action each week on Bovada, first points in this game will be determined by who wins the coin toss in all likelihood. A few weeks ago, Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin was asked a question pertaining to the coin toss and he said he’ll always take the football if he wins, no matter the opponent. Considering the Aggies’ passing game has been nearly unstoppable with the addition of fantastic freshman Christian Kirk, I’d expect Texas A&M to march down the field and pick up at least a field goal if it wins the toss. Dak Prescott could have other plans if he marches on the field first.
