The current SEC players showcased their supreme talent again this weekend after another exciting slate of college football games. But did the former SEC studs perform at a similar level this past Sunday in the NFL?

SDS has all the latest on how former SEC players did in their third week of the 2014 season. Here are the top performances.

WR Julio Jones
NFL team: Atlanta Falcons
Former SEC team: Alabama Crimson Tide
Week 3 stats: nine receptions, 161 receiving yards and two touchdowns

The former Alabama product had a huge day for the Falcons in their blowout win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In front of a national audience, Jones impressed by catching nine passes for 161 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He currently leads all NFL receivers with 365 yards.

WR Jeremy Maclin
NFL team: Philadelphia Eagles
Former SEC team: Missouri Tigers
Week 3 stats: eight receptions, 154 receiving yards and one touchdown

Technically, Jeremy Maclin didn’t play in the SEC as Missouri was in the Big 12 during his collegiate career, but we’ll give him a pass on that. With the departure of DeSean Jackson in the offseason, Maclin has stepped up in a big way to become the Eagles’ No. 1 target. He enjoyed a standout day against the Washington Redskins with eight receptions for 154 receiving yards and one touchdown.

WR Jordan Matthews
NFL team: Philadelphia Eagles
Former SEC team: Vanderbilt Commodores
Week 3 stats: eight receptions, 59 receiving yards and two touchdowns

Alongside Maclin, Jordan Matthews also had an exceptional performance for the Eagles. Matthews, a former Commodore, didn’t rack up as many receiving yards as Maclin, but scored two touchdowns – the first two of his career. In Philadelphia’s high-powered offense, it wouldn’t be surprising to see these two wideouts having big days more often.

RB Knile Davis
NFL team: Kansas City Chiefs
Former SEC team: Arkansas Razorbacks
Week 3 stats: 32 carries, 132 rushing yards and one touchdowns

In lieu of Jamaal Charles sitting out with an injury, the starting running back spot for the Chiefs was passed on to Knile Davis and the former Razorback took advantage of the opportunity. Davis rushed for 132 yards on 32 carries and scored a touchdown for the Chiefs in their 34-15 win on the road against the Miami Dolphins.

QB Peyton Manning
NFL team: Denver Broncos
Former SEC team: Tennessee Volunteers
Week 3 stats: 31-of-49, 303 passing yards and two touchdowns

Another week, another great performance for Peyton Manning. The Broncos lost to the Seahawks yesterday, but perhaps the most impressive part of the game was Manning’s 80-yard drive with just over 40 seconds remaining. He led the Broncos to a game-tying drive after completing a beautiful pass to Demaryius Thomas in the back of the end zone for the two-point conversion.

Other notable performances:

  • WR AJ Green – six receptions for 102 receiving yards
  • WR Steve Johnson – nine receptions for 103 receiving yards
  • RB Zac Stacy – 121 total yards, five receptions
  • QB Eli Manning – 21-of-28, 234 passing yards and two touchdowns
