After every weekend of games, you always hear about the performances of the Kenny Hills, the Amari Coopers and the Todd Gurleys of the SEC. But there are also the performances you don’t hear as much about, coming from the under-the-radar SEC players…the sleepers.

Who were the best of the Saturday Sleepers from Week 4? Take a look.

Neiron Ball, LB, Florida
Week 4 stats: 4 tackles, forced fumble, pass deflection

The Gators’ defense had a rough day, surrendering a school-record 645 total yards against Alabama, but senior linebacker Neiron Ball once again made a huge impact for his team. He recorded four tackles, but also key two big turnovers for the Gators, forcing a fumble that led to a Keanu Neal return for a touchdown and a pass deflection in the second half that led to an interception by Antonio Morrison deep in Alabama territory. Ball has arguably had the greatest impact on defense for Florida in just their first three games.

Josh Robinson, RB, Mississippi State
Week 4 stats: 16 carries, 197 rushing yards and one touchdown

Normally, a stat line like this would be the story of the game, but with Dak Prescott’s 373 total yards and three touchdowns, it’s understandable that Josh Robinson’s great night played second fiddle to the Mississippi State quarterback. Still, the junior running back enjoyed his second 100-plus yard effort of the season last night against a vaunted LSU defense. His 197 yards was by far a career-best for a single game and he proved that defenses have a lot more to worry about than just Dak Prescott running the ball.

Darrius Sims, DB, Vanderbilt
Week 4 stats: 3 kick returns, 217 return yards and two touchdowns

If Vanderbilt would have pulled off the upset, Darrius Sims would have been the reason why. But since the Commodores lost by 14 points, Vanderbilt once again slips into SEC oblivion and Sims’ performance will go largely unnoticed. The sophomore defensive back injected some life back into the Vanderbilt football team with his two electrifying kick returns, including one on the game’s opening kickoff. Sims’ explosiveness gave Vanderbilt a fighting chance.

Brison Williams, SS, South Carolina
Week 4 stats: Three tackles and one interception, 53-yard return for touchdown

For the entire first half, Vanderbilt kept a lead on the Gamecocks, who struggled to really develop any rhythm despite playing a beleaguered Commodores team. It wasn’t until a pick-six by safety Brison Williams that really changed the momentum of the game for the Gamecocks. Williams was able to snag an errant Wade Freebeck pass and take it to the house with just 23 seconds remaining in the quarter to put South Carolina up 17-14 before halftime. The Gamecocks never relinquished the lead after that interception.

Brandon Allen, QB, Arkansas
Week 4 stats: 15-of-22, 199 passing yards, three total touchdowns

The Arkansas quarterback had another modest game yardage-wise, but for the Hogs it’s not about the yards when it comes to Brandon Allen. Most importantly, Allen was efficient and effective, completing nearly 69 percent of his passes against Northern Illinois and scoring three times, including a 44-yard bomb to Keon Hatcher off a nice play-action call. Allen’s continued development is crucial for the Hogs moving forward as teams will start needing to prepare for a balanced Arkansas offensive attack rather than just against the run game.
