National media isn’t high on Florida, LSU’s Tiger Stadium is the best place to cover a game and Kirk Herbstreit is far and away television’s best college football personality.

Those are just a few of the results from The Big Lead’s in-depth 2015 Preseason Media Survey, an interesting anonymous look at the upcoming season.

According to The Big Lead, “we surveyed 27 media members to gauge their thoughts about the upcoming season. Those polled included writers, reporters, radio hosts, and TV people. They were national, local and regional figures.”

SEC takeaways from The Big Lead’s preseason media survey

  • 85 percent of polled (23 out of 27) media members believe Florida will win seven or fewer games this season.
  • Georgia’s Nick Chubb was a consensus Top 5 Heisman selection among voters. Leonard Fournette and Jeremy Johnson also received votes.
  • Jeremy Johnson and Jovon Robinson were two of only four players to receive multiple ‘breakout player’ votes. Baylor’s Seth Russell led the way with four.
  • Alabama’s road trip to Georgia received multiple ‘games most looking forward to’ votes.
  • One media member believes the Crimson Tide will lose three games this season.
  • Nick Saban was voted-second most difficult coach to work with, two votes shy of Bobby Petrino.
  • Bret Bielema tied Charlie Strong in the ‘College Football Coach Royal Rumble’ category. That would be a heckuva scrum wouldn’t it?
  • No voter believes Steve Spurrier will last longer than five years at South Carolina, but 18 (66 percent) project him to be with the Gamecocks at least three more seasons.
  • LSU’s Tiger Stadium was voted ‘best place to cover a game’ with seven votes. Georgia’s Sanford Stadium also received a vote. Vanderbilt finished tied for second with Florida State (3 votes) for ‘worst place to cover a game’ behind Penn State.
