Here are three SEC games to keep an eye on this weekend that could be closer than the experts think:

No. 16 CLEMSON at No. 12 GEORGIA (upset chance 50 percent), 5:30 p.m. ET, ESPN — There are bigger underdogs, sure, but Clemson’s the most likely candidate (of these three) to come out with a victory when the Tigers take on the Bulldogs between the hedges. Equipped with one of college football’s top defensive players in elite pass rusher Vic Beasley, much of the preseason talk has been about Clemson’s veteran-heavy unit on that side of the football under the direction of coordinator Brent Venables. He’s a top assistant in the ACC and is looking to bring constant pressure on Georgia quarterback Hutson Mason. Good news for the Bulldogs? They don’t have to deal with Sammy Watkins defensively.

UTAH STATE at TENNESSEE (upset chance 35 percent), Sunday, 7 p.m. ET, SEC Network — The scouting report says to keep an eye on dynamic Utah State quarterback Chuckie Keeton, but perhaps the most important factor is how efficient Tennessee can perform behind an all-new offensive line. One way to keep Keeton and his playmaking ability off the field is to establish a running game with Marlin Lane and Jalen Hurd. Keeping the Aggies’ defense offense will open things up downfield for Justin Worley and a bevy of talented wide receivers.

ARKANSAS at AUBURN (upset chance 20 percent), 4 p.m. ET, SEC Network — No one’s expecting the Razorbacks to keep this one close, much less win, which is precisely what makes this game a potential colossal upset at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Heisman candidate Nick Marshall’s not going to start for the Tigers and at times, Auburn’s rush defense can be quite porous. I wouldn’t expect the Tigers to deliver their best effort either considering they’re a three-touchdown favorite against a squad they humiliated last fall.
