Combining 247Sports’ Top 50 running back prospects (split down the middle between ballcarriers and all-purpose backs based on composite ratings), only 21 of the nation’s 50 best prospects have verbally committed as of Wednesday afternoon. The remaining 29 prospects have mentioned schools they’re interested, but are considered ‘available’ including the nation’s top-ranked all-purpose back four-star Damian Alloway (Fontana, Ca.) and the sixth-best every-down back, four-star Devwah Whaley (Beaumont, Texas).

Not all available running backs in the Top 50 have SEC offers and some that do aren’t interested, but we’ve tried separating the potential SEC signees from ones we know will likely head elsewhere.

Based on the top uncommitted players who could perhaps land at an SEC program, here are the league’s top remaining 2016 backfield targets, possible schools and where they’re from:
