Tennessee figures to be in the lead for four-star 2016 safety Nigel Warrior, son of former Vols All-American Dale Carter, but Butch Jones and staff will have to fight off five other SEC programs among several others for his signature.

By the way, could this kid have a better last name for a hard-hitting safety?

The Suwanee, Georgia native released an emoji-filled Top 10 on Tuesday evening featuring Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia and LSU in addition to long shots Notre Dame, Oregon, Miami and Ohio State.

Big-name SEC assistants are hot on Warrior’s trail including Jeremy Pruitt, Kirby Smart, Travaris Robinson and John Jancek hoping to land the impact safety.

The Crimson Tide have tried getting Warrior on campus for an official visit the last several weeks after he impressed Alabama’s coaching staff during a June camp.

Earlier this year, Warrior said he would wait until National Signing Day to finalize his decision. In-state Georgia and his father’s alma-mater, Tennessee, are thought to be leaders.

Warrior’s prep teammate, Deangelo Gibbs, is No. 1 cornerback in the 2017 class.
