Even his kicker teammate sometimes tells him to chill. But don’t tell Cody Grace the football field is a no-flex zone. He loves it, and he’ll chest bump you just to make sure you get the message.

It’s common these days for college football teams to release hype videos ahead of each game, but most don’t feature a punter. Arkansas State, though, made Grace the focal point of its hype video this week ahead of its Thursday night game with Georgia State.

Grace is listed at 6-foot-2, 228 pounder from Perth in Western Australia. He’s averaged 42.1 yards per punt this season for the 3-3 Red Wolves. You might remember they fell 57-7 to Alabama in Week 2 in a game where Grace had eight punts and averaged 39.8 yards per punt.

Grace was on the Ray Guy Award Watch List this season, and he’s lived up to it.

His punts have been returned just nine times (11 percent), and he’s a main reason why the Red Wolves lead the nation this year, and were second last year in punt return defense. He has posted at least one punt inside the opponent’s 20-yard line in every game of his career (17) and multiple punts in all but four.
