Week 13 was a tray of cupcakes for the most part, but that didn’t stop these teams from playing hard and ripping off some big plays. The most meaningful game in the SEC was played in Neyland Stadium, and it just so happens that some of the biggest and most exciting plays came out of that game. Let’s get to it.

5. THOMPSON REELS IT IN

As the commentators said, what a great way to celebrate senior day. With the Gamecocks up just 14 in the fourth quarter, the Head Ball Coach dials up a trick play that put Pharoh Cooper and Dylan Thompson in opposite roles. Cooper fakes the draw and lobs a pass right into the outstretched hands of Thompson for the score.

4. CHUBBY TIME

On just his second carry of the game, Georgia freshman Nick Chubb takes a handoff, rounds the corner, and turns on the jets for an 83-yard touchdown run against Charleston Southern. I wonder what Todd Gurley’s best carry of the day would have been.

3. A LITTLE MORE MAGIC

Georgia’s Chris Conley has started making a habit out of these ridiculous catches. After snagging a score with one hand against Tennessee a year ago, he pulls a similar stunt against Charleston Southern, somehow picking a ball out of the air to tally a 23-yard touchdown.

2. MAUK CATCHES FIRE

I don’t know what happened, but when the fourth quarter rolled around in Neyland Stadium, Maty Mauk and his receivers just went bonkers. The longest play for the Tigers came on this 73-yard pass, catch, and stiff-arm from Mauk to Jimmie Hunt.

1. EVERYONE FELL FOR IT

Trailing 7-3 in the second quarter and lining up for what looked to be a field goal, the Tennessee Volunteers were looking uninspired and flat on offense. But a quick-thinking Butch Jones had just the remedy, calling for a fake field goal and pass right down the middle from Patrick Ashford to Alex Ellis for the 31-yard touchdown. The celebration is just icing on the cake.
