Tennessee’s new smoky grey combination from Nike and Texas A&M’s black set by Adidas have been ranked as two of college football’s most anticipated new uniforms for the 2015 season by NFL.com.

Media editor Jim Reineking likes what the swoosh has done in Knoxville, strengthening the Vols’ brand with a creative take on the Great Smoky Mountains. He puts Tennessee’s alternate at No. 7:

As part of a Nike rebrand across all Tennessee sports, the football team got enhanced look. The highlight was “Smokey Grey,” which references the tonal layers of the Great Smoky Mountains. Tennessee football’s return to national relevancy could coincide with the debut of sweet new alt unis.

He places Texas A&M’s ‘Aggie Nights’ reflective alternate No. 3 in his list behind San Diego State’s spectacular Aztec-inspired alternate and Michigan State’s ‘Mach Speed’ rendition:

At the present time, Texas A&M is set to host South Carolina at Kyle Field on Halloween with a game time that is still TBD. We’re hoping TBD turns into a night game for added fright. The all-black uniforms should bring a certain level of intimidation, because, you know, black is supposed to be an intimidating color. Couple that with a night game on Halloween, and South Carolina might just be spooked right out of their wits.
