There are few things more enjoyable as a fan than watching an opposing coach blow up on the sideline after a foolish penalty.

If you’ve seen particular coaches throw tantrums more than others, their teams are probably toward the bottom of this list of penalties per game that we’ve compiled using numbers from CFBStats.com. Below, you can see where all 14 SEC teams rank, with the least-penalized teams at the top.

Ole Miss is still the worst offender in the league by a decent margin, but the Rebels’ per-game average dropped by nearly one penalty since last week after they committed just four infractions against Arkansas.

Penalties are sometimes good indicators of a team’s record, but they don’t always tell the whole story. While LSU and Arkansas are tied for the third-fewest penalties in the SEC, the Tigers are ranked No. 5 and just earned perhaps the nation’s best victory in 2018 while the Razorbacks have just one win halfway through the year.
