For South Carolina, it’s Tennessee week, and that means one thing – non-stop “Rocky Top.”

“To be honest with you, I’m really getting tired of that song,” safety Chris Moody told The State’s Ben Breiner. “When coach (Steve) Spurrier was here, he played the crap out of that song. It’s one of those songs, that you hear it, you remember it all week.”

After two days, all the Gamecocks players Breiner spoke to were tired of the song, which the Tennessee band plays repeatedly during games. First-year coach Will Muschamp, who went 4-0 against the Volunteers at Florida, said the point of playing it is for the players to not want to hear the song.

“Sometimes you get tired of listening to it, and you don’t want to listen to it on game day,” Muschamp said. “So I told our guys, play good and you won’t have to listen to it. They’re still going to play it though.”
