A week after losing All-Big 12 safety Isaiah Johnson to South Carolina, the Kansas Jayhawks have replaced their outgoing starter with two potential impact players from the SEC.

Gamecocks linebacker Marcquis Roberts posted on Facebook Tuesday that he would be transferring to Kansas following an injury-plagued four-year stint with the Gamecocks. He posted 79 tackles over the last two seasons as a situational player on Lorenzo Ward’s defense.

Roberts will join former Texas A&M wideout Laquvionte Gonzalez, who announced Kansas was his destination on Sunday, in Lawrence, Ka. next season.

Roberts is one of nine Gamecocks who left the team for various reasons following South Carolina’s Independence Bowl win last season.
