Thanksgiving is a time rooted in family, food, and…football.

South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp is putting extra emphasis on the “football” part of this equation.

According to CBS Sports, the Gamecocks will practice on Thanksgiving ahead of its big in-state clash with Clemson this weekend.

While many would think the team would be given a day off to relax and spend time with family, Muschamp isn’t subscribing to this sentiment:

“We’ve got practice in the morning. We’ll be in here early. It’s awesome. Thanksgiving is a meal. It’s not a day. We’re going to have a great meal and then we’re going to watch a little tape, then maybe watch a little more tape. We’ll get our walk-through cards ready for Friday, so it’s going to be awesome.”
