Once a Gamecock, always a Gamecock.

Former South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier was spotted at Founders Park Sunday taking in the school’s baseball game as the Gamecocks took on Oklahoma State in a do-or-die Game 3 of the Super Regionals.

While it’s rare for a football coach to be bestowed with the honor of having a field named him, as Florida did with Spurrier earlier this week, it’s pretty much unheard for a coach to be revered at two schools. That’s what happens when you are the winningest coach in the history of two programs, as Spurrier has become. Spurrier retired from South Carolina with an overall record of 86–49 with a 44–40 SEC record.
