South Carolina’s vacant coaching job has been linked to Cal coach Sonny Dykes.

Dykes is the second sitting Pac-12 head coach connected to the Gamecocks opening Thursday. There are reports that current Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez will interview with South Carolina.

Cal has offered Dykes an extension which he has not yet signed. He’s also interviewed at Missouri and has been linked to the Virginia opening as well. Some have speculated that Dykes wants out of Cal and is hoping to have another job in place by the time the Golden Bears resume practice ahead of the bowl game.

Dykes is 35-38 as an FBS head coach. His first Cal team went 1-11 in 2013, and he has improved that program to 7-5 this year behind potential first-round pick and quarterback Jared Goff. He also won 17 games in his final two seasons at Louisiana Tech.

The coach is a proponent of the Air Raid offense.
