The offseason exodus of Frank Martin’s program continued on Tuesday as Chris Silva has become the latest player to announce his departure from the program.

However, unlike some of the transfers from South Carolina, Silva left the door open for a potential return next season, as he will not hire an agent at this time. Silva was an All-SEC’s first team and the league’s co-defensive player of the year.

Silvia issued a release following his decision which was sent out by South Carolina:

“I want to thank my family, my teammates, my coaches and all of our amazing fans at the University of South Carolina for all of the support I’ve received so far during my time as a Gamecock. After meeting with Coach Frank (Martin), I’m excited about the opportunity to declare for the draft, without hiring an agent. I’m looking forward to going through the process.”
