4-star 2018 QB Dakereon Joyner will get the headlines from South Carolina’s quarterback class, but the Gamecocks added another interesting piece on Tuesday.

That’s because Corbett Glick, a South Carolina native, committed to the Gamecocks as a preferred walk-on.

In an interview with The State, Glick said he is excited to compete and do whatever the Gamecocks need from him:

“I felt USC deep down in my heart and love football and wanted to be part of something bigger than I am,” Glick said. “I love Coach Muschamp and am going in and to compete. And as years go on, hopefully I can be a leader and do whatever is asked of me.”

Joyner may be the quarterback of the future in Columbia, but Glick can still play an important roll. In two seasons at Heathwood Hall High School, he managed to set school records for passing yards (6,000), touchdowns (66) and passer rating (69.4).

With stats like that, it’ll be interesting to see what sort of role he can carve out for himself at South Carolina.
