South Carolina’s 2017 class got a big boost Wednesday with a pair of defensive linemen who chose the Gamecocks on National Signing Day.

Four-star DE Javon Kinlaw, a Goose Creek (S.C.) product should make an immediate impact on USC’s defensive line. The 6-foot-6, 305-pound Kinlaw is rated the No. 2 strong-side defensive end in the junior college ranks on the 247Sports Composite. The Jones County Junior College (Ellisville, Miss.) is ranked the No. 11 JUCO prospect. Kinlaw also had offers from Alabama, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Texas A&M.

South Carolina will get more years out of Tucker (Ga.) defensive end Aaron Sterling. The 6-foot-2, 250-pounder is rated the No. 17 strong-side defensive end out of high school. Sterling had nine offers, including Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Tennessee.

South Carolina currently has 24 commits for a class which ranks No. 21 nationally and No. 8 in the SEC.
