South Carolina president Harris Pastides found a clever way to tell Gamecock Nation when the Darius Rucker concert would be coming to Columbia by delivering the above video message to the school’s faithful.

If you don’t know the backstory, this concert is all due to one fan challenging Rucker on Twitter to come through with a concert on campus if the Gamecocks made it to a bowl game last season.

Coming off a 3-9 season in 2015 and heading into Will Muschamp’s first year in Columbia, it seemed like a safe bet at the time, but South Carolina proved many doubters wrong and finished the regular season with a 6-6 record — earning them a trip to the Birmingham Bowl.

Rucker promised to keep his word and the huge Gamecock fan will be playing a concert April 5 at 7:30 p.m. ET in Colonial Life Arena with special guests Patrick Davis and the Midnight Choir. You can get all the info on the show at sc.edu/darius.
