Football is often compared to war, so what better way for football players to learn about responsibility, accountability, teamwork and leadership than to visit a military base.

That’s what the South Carolina Gamecocks did, heading to Fort Jackson near Columbia to go through some training with members of the U.S. Army.

It seems as if the Gamecocks had fun and learned a bit about what members of the U.S. Army go through.

If nothing else, it will give them even more respect for America’s troops. If they learned about leadership and teamwork along the way, that’s an even bigger plus for Will Muschamp’s squad.
