South Carolina wasted little time kick-starting its upset bid against No. 9 Texas A&M.

Freshman running back A.J. Turner ripped off a 75-yard touchdown run on the first play from scrimmage, putting the Gamecocks (2-2, 1-2) ahead of the Aggies (4-0, 2-0) just 13 seconds into the game. Turner had gained only 157 yards on 47 carries this entire season before that electrifying run.

The play fired up a packed crowd at Williams-Brice Stadium.

South Carolina’s lead, however, didn’t last long. Texas A&M quarterback Trevor Knight marched the Aggies right down the field to tie the game 7-7.
