The impressive journey of South Carolina legend Marcus Lattimore continued this week as the former star running back received his college degree from the school Friday.

While the NCAA recently denied Lattimore the permission to join head coach Will Muschamp’s Gamecock staff, the all-time South Carolina great running back showed true class in accepting the NCAA’s decision and thanking Muschamp for the opportunity. Following the ruling, Lattimore has since accepted a role as a high school coach.

For all the good Lattimore has heaped on the school during his three-year career at Carolina, and has continued to do so in his post-playing career, the South Carolina faithful were able to show their appreciation for Lattimore once again as he took his graduation walk Friday. The school posted this video for Gamecock Nation and Muschamp retweeted it to show his appreciation for Lattimore’s accomplishments:

He may not be a member of the South Carolina coaching staff this season but don’t rule out Lattimore finding a path back to Columbia in some form or fashion in the coming years, as he’s likely to be one of the more popular high school coaches in the state of South Carolina for years to come.
