South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp spoke with Paul Finebaum on Friday about how his Gamecocks program is progressing and improving.

He believes South Carolina is much better heading into the Clemson game this year.

The No. 24 Gamecocks and third-ranked Tigers are scheduled to kick off from Columbia on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Muschamp also told Finebaum he’s excited about the future of South Carolina football, primarily because of the fact that everyone in the athletics department is on the same page.

“I see the arrows pointing forward,” Muschamp said. “We’re all on the same page moving forward about the things we need to do to be successful. From a five hour standpoint around our campus, not just in the state of South Carolina, but in the state of Georgia, North Carolina, the northern tip of Florida …

“We’re going to be able to recruit players to win the SEC East — and that’s what we plan on doing.”
