It doesn’t seem to matter how old you are if you wear the Garnet and Black in Williams-Brice Stadium. Frustration is boiling over.

Although some fans may have had a more colorful response to the Gamecocks’ struggles in the loss to App State on Saturday, one young fan summarized it this way: “What the heck.”

The Gamecocks are in their second period of frustration with coach Will Muschamp and the Gamecocks following a 1-3 start. The criticism appeared to go away temporarily following the upset win over Georgia, but now South Carolina has lost three of four games, and facing the need to win at Texas A&M and Clemson to qualify for a bowl.

There have been questions about Muschamp making staff changes and whether he has the support of the school administration going forward. Muschamp defiantly said that he wouldn’t make any changes until he evaluates the staff after the season.

One thing is clear: the buyout talk that fans drummed up early in the season will continue into the offseason barring a complete turnaround in these final two games. ESPN’s FPI gives the Gamecocks a less than 23 percent chance to win this week, and just an 8.9 percent chance to beat Clemson.
