2016 SEC Head Coaches

The Southeastern Conference welcomes three new head coaches for the 2016 season.

The Georgia Bulldogs hired long-time Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart to replace Mark Richt. The Missouri Tigers hired defensive coordinator Barry Odom to replace long-time head coach Gary Pinkel, and the South Carolina Gamecocks hired former Florida head coach Will Muschamp to replace Steve Spurrier.

Nick Saban

Head Coach, Alabama Crimson Tide

Nick Saban is the Head Coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide. Prior to leading the Crimson Tide, he was the Head Coach at LSU, Michigan State and the NFL's Miami Dolphins.

Bret Bielema

Head Coach, Arkansas Razorbacks

Bret Bielema is the Head Coach of the Arkansas Razorbacks. Prior to joining Arkansas, Bielema was the Head Coach of the Wisconsin Badgers.

Gus Malzahn

Jim McElwain

Head Coach, Florida Gators

Jim McElwain spent four seasons as the offensive coordinator at Alabama under coach Nick Saban, helping the Tide win two national championships before becoming head coach at Colorado State.

Kirby Smart

Head Coach, Georgia Bulldogs

Now the head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs, Kirby Smart looks to make a name for himself in the Southeastern Conference.

Mark Stoops

Head Coach, Kentucky Wildcats

Mark Stoops is the Head Coach of the Kentucky Wildcats. He formerly coached as a defensive assistant at Florida State, Arizona and Miami.

Les Miles

Head Coach, LSU Tigers

Les Miles is the Head Coach of the LSU Tigers. Prior to replacing Nick Saban at LSU, Miles was the Head Coach at Oklahoma State.

Dan Mullen

Head Coach, Mississippi State Bulldogs

Dan Mullen is the Head Coach of the Mississippi State Bulldogs. He worked previously as an offensive assistant under Urban Meyer at Florida, Utah and Bowling Green.

Barry Odom

Head Coach, Missouri Tigers

The Missouri Tigers named Barry Odom their next head coach after Gary Pinkel stepped down.

Hugh Freeze

Head Coach, Ole Miss Rebels

Hugh Freeze is the Head Coach of the Mississippi Rebels. Prior to heading to Ole Miss, Freeze served as the Offensive Coordinator and Head Coach for Arkansas State.

Will Muschamp

Head Coach, South Carolina Gamecocks

Will Muschamp is the current defensive coordinator of the Auburn Tigers. He served previously as head coach of the Florida Gators and defensive coordinator at Texas, Auburn, LSU and the Miami Dolphins.

Kevin Sumlin

Head Coach, Texas A&M Aggies

Kevin Sumlin is the Head Coach for the Texas A&M Aggies. He has previously coached at Houston, Oklahoma and Washington State.

Derek Mason

Head Coach, Vanderbilt Commodores

Derek Mason is the Head Coach of the Vanderbilt Commodores. He was previously the defensive coordinator at Stanford under Head Coach David Shaw.
