The 2011 crop of SEC talent that should be drafted by NFL teams tonight is pretty nasty. How does it stack up against the SEC first rounders from the 2010 draft? Let’s take a look.

Recently, Pete Bigelow of AnnArbor.com wrote an article highlighting the fall of the Big 10 (or 11 or 12 – however many teams they have at this point) by showing the decreasing number of 1st round draft picks produced by the conference. Bigelow also noted a pretty big influx of SEC talent in the 1st round and drew the conclusion that the SEC has become the most talented conference in college football (Tell us something we don’t know, right?).

Alabama defensive tackle Marcell Dareus has declared for the NFL draft. Both he and Mark Ingram will hold a press conference on Friday to publicly announce their decision. Dareus was a beast for Alabama the last couple years. He was the MVP of the 2010 BCS National Championship Game.
