$75 million man Jimbo Fisher: 'I've never taken a job for money in my life'
Even before Jimbo Fisher landed a massive 10-year, $75 million contract to coach the Texas A&M Aggies, he was getting plenty of money to coach Florida State.
It’s easy to say that money doesn’t matter when you have a lot of money, but on Thursday, Fisher explained what it is about coaching that makes it more than a paycheck to him.
He said it’s about his players and having a positive impact on their lives:
Jimbo Fisher: ‘I’ve never taken a job for money in my life. It’s about opportunity and where things are going and where the game is going and where you can be successful and where you can make your mark as far as affecting young kids’ lives.’

Still, having a $7.5 million salary isn’t something Fisher will likely give up anytime soon, but his point still stands.
Now, he’ll be tasked with turning the Aggies into a program that can compete alongside Alabama, Auburn and the rest of the powerful SEC West.
