Texas A&M’s weekend recruiting barbecue looks to have been a smashing success as the Aggies have landed yet another commitment. After the Aggies gained a commit from four-star running back Travis Etienne Saturday, top Louisiana athlete Keldrick Carper followed suit and pledged his commitment to A&M Sunday.

Head coach Kevin Sumlin, currently in Los Angeles, tweeted out his excitement following the news of landed a commit from Louisiana:

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Carper is currently rated as a four-star prospect, the No. 23 athlete recruit in the nation and No. 12 prospect from Louisiana, according to 247Sports Composite Ratings. Carper had over 30 offers which included scholarship opportunities from Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee and Vanderbilt among many other schools around the nation.

Following the big weekend of commits for Texas A&M, the school has moved up 10 spots in the 247Sports 2017 Composite Team Recruiting Rankings and ranks as the No. 10 overall class in the nation at this time. The Aggies now have 12 players total committed to the class.

As a junior, Carper played both ways for his high school team Plain Dealing. On offense, Carper scored 20 touchdowns and accounted for over 1,600 total yards of offense, while on defense he registered 3 interceptions.
