Texas A&M posted an impressive 30-17 win Saturday over a ranked Mississippi State.

How impressive? The Aggies moved up five spots to No. 9 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll and four spots to No. 11 in the Coaches Poll, released Sunday.

The Aggies’ victory was their first home win over a ranked team since 2012, according to the Associated Press.

The Aggies, which moved to 5-0 for the second consecutive season, are off this week as they begin preparing for their Oct. 17 home showdown against Alabama.

Last season, the Aggies’ hot start ended abruptly with three consecutive losses to ranked teams, the last of which was a 59-0 loss at Alabama.
