The Cleveland Browns selected former Texas A&M DE Myles Garrett with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft and haven’t been disappointed so far.

After starting him off with the third-string defense, Garrett has steadily worked his way up the depth chart and is now working with the starters.

According to Cleveland.com, Browns defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has loved coaching Garrett so far, saying he’s one of the best rookies he’s ever gotten to work with:

“I’ve never had a chance to draft the first overall pick ever, but I’ve had some pretty high draft picks,” Williams said. “He’s the one that has jumped out and fit in faster than any of the other ones, and I have had some really, really good ones.”

Considering Williams has been coaching at the NFL level since 1990, that’s some incredible praise for the former Aggie.

Unfortunately for the Browns, Garrett won’t be able to turn the team’s fortunes around by himself this season, but having him on the roster may help them take a step forward this fall.
