National Signing Day is on Feb. 4 and the SEC is primed to bring in another impressive haul of top recruits in the 2015 recruiting class.

In the next 25 days, Saturday Down South counts down the top 25 recruits either committed to the SEC or strongly considering SEC schools.

No. 16 Christian Kirk

Position: Wide Receiver
247Sports ranking: No. 31 overall; No. 1 overall in Arizona
Committed: Texas A&M

The skinny: For two years in a row, Kevin Sumlin has dipped into Arizona and cherry picked one of its top prospects. Last year, it was quarterback Kyle Allen. This year, it’s Christian Kirk. Let’s put it simply: Kirk is a burner. You want this kid to get the football in space, and he’ll house it. He’s an excellent receiver, but he’s also dynamic on special teams, specifically in the return game. Kirk finished the 2014 season with 1,692 yards rushing with 25 touchdowns, while catching 61 passes for 1,187 yards and 17 touchdowns. Kirk finished his high school career with state records in touchdowns, receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.

Freshman projection: Kirk and Texas A&M’s offense were made for each other. Kirk should get on the field early, and yeah, he’s an incredible playmaker, but he’s also very versatile, which will help him make an early impact. He could be used as a version of a hybrid running back and receiver. A similar scenario that would be ideal for the Aggies and Kirk would be how Tavon Austin was used at West Virginia. Guess who coached at WVU during that time? Jake Spavital. It could be a match made in heaven, and expect Kirk to make a splash in 2015.
