The Matchup: No. 6 Texas A&M (4-0, 1-0) vs. Arkansas (3-1, 0-1)
The Venue: AT&T Stadium
The Kick: 3:30 p.m. ET
TV: CBS Sports

Series record: Arkansas 41-26-3

Last meeting: Mike Evans caught two touchdown passes in the first half, Texas A&M picked off Brandon Allen twice and the Aggies rushed for 262 yards and threw for 261. Arkansas managed nearly 483 yards of offense, but A&M never trailed and won, 45-33.

Coaches: Kevin Sumlin (59-23 overall), Bret Bielema (74-34 overall).

Last game (Texas A&M): The Aggies may have literally sent every healthy, in-uniform player into the game Saturday against Southern Methodist. Kenny Hill threw his first career interception, but Texas A&M put this one away early and cruised to a 58-6 win on the road.

Last game (Arkansas): The Razorbacks demolished a 3-0 Northern Illinois team that had already secured a power conference win. Arkansas quarterback Brandon Allen had one of his better games, Bielema’s smash-mouth brand produced steady results and the defense gave a commanding performance in a 52-14 win.

Texas A&M wins if: Kenny Hill and the offense eliminate the first-quarter snafus and score more than 40 points. The defense gives ground, but Myles Garrett and a revitalized pass rush disrupt Allen and force a few mistakes. A&M’s offensive line gets to pound on Arkansas more than the Razorbacks do on A&M.

Arkansas wins if: The Razorbacks get a first-half lead. Arkansas must control time of possession, avoid turnovers, grind on a susceptible Aggies defense and play aggressive against A&M’s offense. Rather than allow Hill to orchestrate easy drives, Arkansas should concede a few big plays in hopes of disrupting A&M or even forcing turnovers.

What it means if Texas A&M wins: The Aggies belong in the Top 10 and will play meaningful football into October, perhaps beyond. Arkansas looks poised to finish last in the SEC West once again.

What it means if Arkansas wins: Texas A&M only has one sure win left on the schedule in Louisiana-Monroe. A few more bad performances (and a few good ones by the Razorbacks) and the Aggies could be competing with LSU on Nov. 27 to avoid last place in the SEC West.
