“You go from Heisman talk to, dog, you’re a joke.”

Friday morning, ESPN writer Max Olson published a terrific story on former Texas A&M quarterback Kenny Hill, who transferred to TCU after one of the biggest falls from grace in recent college football memory.

Trill, who followed star quarterback Johnny Manziel after he left for the NFL, completed 44 passes for 511 yards in a 52-28 rout of a preseason top-10 South Carolina opponent in his first start. He would go on to lead the Aggies to a 5-0 start, producing over 1,800 yards of offense with 17 touchdowns and just two interceptions in the process.

But then he’d go on to lose three straight games, including a 59-0 loss to Alabama where he finished with just 138 yards. He lost his starting job to a freshman and left the program soon after.

“I had never lost three games in a row in my life in anything,” Hill said.

Fast forward to the 2016 season, and Hill is back on top of the college football world, ranking No. 3 nationally in total offense (1,653 yards) after throwing for 452 yards last week against SMU — the second-most in his career behind the South Carolina debut.

“He’s been a professional ever since he’s been here,” Horned Frogs coach Patterson said. “He’s done everything right.”

Hill will get a chance to put TCU (3-1, 0-1 Big 12) back on the map as a conference contender when the Frogs host Oklahoma this Saturday.
