Jimbo Fisher would welcome Johnny Manziel to College Station for Texas A&M Pro Day
If you missed the news, Johnny Manziel continues to take positive steps toward making a comeback in the NFL. His latest opportunity came at San Diego State’s Pro Day event Thursday morning.
The former Heisman Trophy winner from College Station threw to the school’s draft hopefuls at receiver during the event. With his presence at the event, he likely attracted additional eyes to the SDSU players hoping to land on an NFL roster. Based on the buzz around the event, it appears Manziel turn some heads with his performance.
Sports Illustrated’s Bruce Feldman, who broke the news of Manziel taking part in the event, offered up this comment:
I’m told there were 12 NFL teams in attendance for USD’s Pro Day where Johnny Manziel was throwing for receivers. The Patriots brought Manziel inside to get an official weight for him. (He’s back up to 199 lbs.)

While NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport shed some additional light on the backstory:
Kind of a cool thing that Johnny Manziel agreed to throw at San Diego Pro Day. He’d been training with 2 of their late-round prospects and they asked him to be QB for their workouts for scouts. Manziel agreed yesterday to do them a favor. Benefitted all sides, as he looked sharp.

With Manziel making an appearance at San Diego State, that left some wondering whether he might do the same in College Station as he attempts to do everything he can in order to get back to the NFL.
Following Texas A&M’s latest practice, Jimbo Fisher was asked about having Manziel return for the school’s upcoming Pro Day. Fisher said Manziel would be welcome to do so in a video posted by Travis L. Brown of My Aggie Nation:
