PHILADELPHIA — If commissioner Roger Goodell steps up to the podium and announces that the Cleveland Browns have taken North Carolina QB Mitchell Trubisky with the No. 1 overall pick, expect to hear a chorus of boos from the team’s supporters.

With the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft only a few hours away, fans are flocking to the iconic Rocky Steps to get a glimpse of the action.

Obviously, Philadelphia Eagles supporters vastly outnumber the other teams’ fan groups, but there are a few Browns supporters in town for the festivities.

Among the Cleveland faithful who made their way to Philadelphia, there’s no indecision. Though the Browns are reportedly considering passing on Garrett, the overwhelming majority of their fans want the former Texas A&M star.

Here’s what they had to say about the ex-Aggie and why they believe he should be the top pick on Thursday night:

Derrick Kettering, Marietta, Ohio
“The Browns need to take Myles Garrett and solidify that defensive line. I like his versatility. He’s the best defensive end in the draft, of course. I believe that he can be a great play maker on the field.”

Jason Chipps, Cleveland
“Myles Garrett. Defense wins. They have no quarterback, so the best way to win games, in my opinion, is to have a strong defense. Trent Dilfer won a quarterback with the Ravens because of that defense.”

Scott Whitesell, Cleveland
“I think the Browns need to go with Myles Garrett. They need a quarterback, but we have other holes to fill and there are some studs on defense, so I think you wait on a quarterback. [Garrett]’s relentless. He’s an animal — a freak of nature.”

Chip Fortuna, Cleveland
“Garrett, [Jonathan] Allen — anybody that can beat up a quarterback, because AFC North quarterbacks are getting old and they can’t move, so you know where they’re going to be. My dream — take Garrett at No. 1 and hope Allen is there at No. 12.”

Of course, the Garrett love wasn’t unanimous. One fan likes Trubisky, but not as an immediate solution to Cleveland’s dismal quarterback situation:

Mike Booher, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
“I think they should go with a quarterback, even though I wouldn’t want him to play right away.”

Only the Browns know who they’ll take with the first pick on Thursday night (although if recent rumors are to be believed, they might not even know).

Everyone will find out who becomes the No. 1 overall selection in the 2017 NFL Draft when the first round begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time on ESPN.
