Texas A&M insider provides hope for dormant rivalry with Texas
Texas A&M’s departure for the SEC in 2011 effectively ended its rivalry with Texas, one that was played for nearly 100 straight years. No efforts have been made to revive the series, and newly hired Longhorns coach Tom Herman essentially gave a no-comment when asked about it Sunday.
But one Texas A&M insider thinks the rivalry could be renewed some time down the road.

Billy Liucci, executive editor of TexAgs.com, tweeted about Texas A&M scheduling Texas before 2025. He tweeted that comment in reference to the Aggies’ future non-conference schedule, which he reported will include a home-and-home series with Miami in 2022-2023.

The in-state rivalry was one of the most storied and heated in all of college football, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see Texas A&M and Texas come together to rekindle the series.
