Texas A&M stays hot in recruiting, lands commitment from 4-star DL Josh Ellison
On National Signing Day, Jimbo Fisher proclaimed Texas A&M would finish with one of the nation’s top recruiting classes for 2019. It appears that was much more than bravado from the new Aggie coach.
Wednesday, Texas A&M landed a commitment from College Station defensive lineman Josh Ellison. The 6-foot-3, 300-pound lineman is rated as a four-star prospect and the No. 18 defensive tackle in the nation according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. He commits to the Aggies over early offers from Baylor and Tennessee.
With this pledge, Texas A&M now has four commitments from elite 2019 prospects and six total commitments. The early team rankings place the Aggies with the No. 5 overall recruiting class in the nation — well on pace to help Fisher keep his word regarding next year’s class.
Here’s the statement from Ellison’s high school program announcing his commitment to Texas A&M:
Congratulations to @ellisonjoshua5 for his commitment to Texas A&M University. Thank you Coach Fisher for recruiting in the Brazos Valley. @AMCHSWeb #amchs #100%committed pic.twitter.com/dUc7bUt4ck
