Texas A&M got bad news before kickoff Saturday night as veteran receiver Malcome Kennedy will miss a second consecutive game due to a shoulder injury.

The Ole Miss secondary, led by S Cody Prewitt and CB Senquez Golson, could be the best in the country. A&M’s receivers dropped passes in bunches last week against Mississippi State. And Kennedy’s absence offsets the first-half suspension of Trae Elston. (Coach Hugh Freeze suspended Elston for kicking at an injured Kenyan Drake last week.)

Kennedy has 33 catches for 378 yards, including 14 grabs in a road win against South Carolina. He’s been the team’s best route-runner and the receiver with the most consistent hands.

The Aggies did get TE Cam Clear (ankle) back on the field.

Kenny Hill is going to have to play much better tonight against Ole Miss if the Aggies are going to knock off the nation’s No. 3 team. And receivers like Speedy Noil and Ricky Seals-Jones are going to have to catch everything.
