Ever since Tennessee cornerback Cam Sutton fractured his ankle against Ohio on Sept. 17, it was unclear if he’d be able to return this season.

Butch Jones finally provided an answer to that lingering question Monday.

Though no official timetable has been set for the senior’s return, it’s still great news for a Volunteers team that was decimated by injuries through the first half of the season, especially on defense. Sutton is an All-SEC player with seven interceptions and two punt return touchdowns to his name.

If the four-year starter indeed plays again this season, he’ll be a key player as the No. 18 Volunteers fight to win the SEC East.
