There are many paths for the proverbial college football player to take.

Some absolutely star on the biggest stage — thus turning into high draft picks. Other don’t quite live up to the hype, and flame out. There are also some beset by injuries — or potentially ‘physical limitations’ when it comes to size.

As such, there have been multiple all-star games at the conclusion of the college football season. These are designed as a way to showcase these athletes — whom may or may not be sure-fire NFL draft picks.

One of these games is the Tropical Bowl. In only its second season, the game based in Daytona Beach offers a chance for seniors to perform in front of NFL scouts and general managers.

The 2017 contest featured multiple SEC players. However, one stood out amongst the rest:

Former Tennessee tight end Jason Croom caught two touchdowns during the contest, and was recognized as the MVP.

Croom possesses a terrific frame paired with good athleticism. He battled both injuries and inconsistency throughout his career in Knoxville.

With that said, he’s certainly got some talent. A team could likely take a late-round flier on him — hoping to strike gold.
