Mychal Rivera is a free agent no longer. The Jacksonville Jaguars announced the signing of the former Tennessee tight end Wednesday. Terms of the deal were not immediately revealed by the team.

Rivera had spent his entire four-year career with the Raiders before agreeing to this deal with the Jags. For his NFL career, Rivera has a combined 146 receptions for 1,413 yards and 10 touchdowns in 61 career games. According to NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo, the deal is essentially a one-year deal with Jacksonville having the option to make it a two-year contract following the 2017 season.

The former Tennessee player appeared in 37 games for the Vols and registered 76 receptions for 1,018 yards and six TDs in college. He was a sixth-round selection by the Raiders in the 2013 NFL Draft. Rivera should be lining up against a familiar face this season in practice, as his former UT teammate, defensive lineman Malik Jackson, is also a member of the Jaguars.
