Back in October, then-Tennessee RB John Kelly was arrested, along with teammate Will Ignont, for possession of marijuana and charged with a misdemeanor.

The Los Angeles Rams were obviously aware of the event long before they drafted Kelly in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, and now we know the punishment Kelly will face.

On Tuesday, KnoxNews.com reported that Kelly pleaded guilty to the charge and will receive judicial diversion:

Kelly must pay a $250 fine and court costs. If Kelly fulfills the terms of his judicial diversion agreement during a probationary period of 11 months and 29 days, the guilty plea will be expunged from his record.

According to the report, Ignont received a “pass disposition” and will have his charge expunged after he pays court costs.

This likely won’t affect Kelly’s standing with the Rams at all. As long as he stays out of trouble, he’ll have a chance to earn the Rams’ backup running back spot behind star Todd Gurley II.
