Peyton Manning’s dedication to film study and prep was the stuff of legend for those who closely followed his decorated NFL career.

For football fans who have wanted a peek inside the mind of Manning, ESPN is getting ready to offer that chance. The World Wide Leader announced Wednesday that its series “Detail” will be returning for a second season and expanding into other sports. The first season featured Kobe Bryant providing an in-depth look at basketball. Here’s a sample of what Bryant did in season one:

According to an ESPN release, Manning was the first person Bryant had in mind when ESPN discussed expanding the series to a football audience.

“The concept behind Detail is centered around helping athletes get better, so it made perfect sense to expand the show to other sports,” Bryant said. “Peyton was my first call to be the NFL athlete due to his unrelenting preparation and study of his craft. The next generation of football players will learn first-hand how one of the greatest players of all time objectively breaks down a game. It’s the ultimate film session for anyone who wants to learn and improve.”

Here’s a further description of what viewers can expect from the Tennessee legend and future Hall of Famer:

Manning, working in collaboration with NFL Films and Granity Studios, will host, write and share his insights to the football-themed Detail, with NFL Films editing the shows into an eight-episode series – exclusively available on ESPN+. The two-time Super Bowl champion will select NFL games throughout the current season and break down the film.

“I’ve always enjoyed talking football with coaches, players and passionate fans, and that’s at the core of this show,” said Peyton Manning. “I’m honored to help expand Kobe’s Detail to a football audience.”

For many fans, the disappointing news is that “Detail” is available only on the subscription-based streaming platform ESPN+ (an additional subscription to any ESPN packages with television providers).

The first episode of Manning’s Detail will be available tomorrow (Oct. 18) on ESPN+ and takes a look at Josh Rosen’s game versus the Minnesota Vikings Oct. 14. ESPN says remaining episodes are expected to be available on a weekly or bi-weekly basis throughout the 2018-19 NFL season
