Peyton Manning’s name has been everywhere he wouldn’t want it to be lately because of his bare body parts that were allegedly everywhere they shouldn’t have been previously.

However, there’s two sides to every story.

Manning gave his in a 2003 affidavit released by WATE-TV. This is taken directly from the affidavit:

“On February 29, 1996, I was involved in an incident in the training room at UT involving a trainer named Jamie Whited, whom I understand now goes by the name of Jamie Naughright and is the Plaintiff in this case. Although the football season had concluded, I continued to work out and stay in shape. At that time, I had had a minor injury with my foot.”

Manning then goes into the specifics of the checkup.

“After completing my workout on that day, I was sitting on the training table wearing a T-shirt, a pair of shorts and a jock strap. I was talking to a fellow athlete, Malcolm Saxon, who was sitting a few tables away from me.

Ms. Whited came into the training room to ask about my foot. She then asked me to hop off the table so she could examine my foot. I hopped off the table and continued my discussion with Mr. Saxon.

Once off the table, Ms. Whited moved behind me so that she could examine my foot. At that point, Mr. Saxon made a comment to me intended as a joke regarding my then-girlfriend (now my wife), the substance of which I cannot recall. After hearing his comment, I pulled down my shorts for about one second to expose my buttocks to him, or as is colloquially known, to “moon” him.

I immediately pulled my shorts back up while Ms. Whited continued to examine my foot. My shorts were never down farther than exposing my buttocks. I did not pull them down to my ankles.

Ms. Whited then finished examining my foot, told me to get back up on the table, and said that I should get some ice on my foot. I then iced my foot, during which time Ms. Whited stayed in the training room. I iced my foot for fifteen or twenty minutes, the standard time for such a treatment. During this time Ms. Whited, who remained in the training room, did not seem uncomfortable or upset.”

The key takeaways from that statement were that Manning showed his buttocks to Saxon and not Naughright. He also said he only did it for one second, and that he didn’t pull them down past his buttocks. Plus, Naughright didn’t seem bothered at the time.

This story continues to get plenty of attention, and we’ll keep you updated if there are any new developments.
