Vol Haters out there, if you thought you disliked Tennessee’s football team, you probably have nothing on former UT defensive coordinator, and now USF secondary coach, John Jancek.

After serving on Butch Jones’ staff the previous three seasons in Knoxville, Jancek was shown the door this offseason in order to make room for the team’s current coordinator Bob Shoop – who was hired away from Penn State. At the time, Jones said Jancek’s departure from Tennessee was a mutual move, however, Jancek’s Twitter account strongly suggested otherwise.

Wouldn’t you know it, after Tennessee was upset on the road at South Carolina Saturday night by a score of 24-21, Jancek immediately took to Twitter to announce his pleasure with those results (Jancek has since deleted this tweet):

One thing to note, Jancek’s son Zac is a quarterback on Tennessee’s roster – making his father’s seemingly happy tone following the Vols’ loss seem a bit selfish. However, Jancek could simply be noting his defenses were undefeated against the Gamecocks while the 2016 Tennessee team gave up 325 yards of total offense and lost to a true freshman making his first career start against a SEC opponent.

Either way, it’s quite clear, Jancek does not appear to agree with Jones’ decision to end his tenure in Knoxville. Saturday night’s tweet is simply the latest example of this fact.
