Former Tennessee coach Butch Jones hasn’t been out of work for long, but he’s already drawing interest from new schools.

Jones was a great recruiter with the Vols, but struggled mightily this season and was fired after a huge loss to Mizzou last weekend. However, he could still be valuable to a different Power 5 program.

According to a report by SB Nation, Jones has already been contacted by Oregon State, a school that is looking for a new coach after Gary Andersen resigned a couple of weeks ago:

The Beavers contacted recently fired Tennessee coach Butch Jones. Other names around the job include former Florida head coach Jim McElwain, (Navy’s Ken) Niumatalolo, and Virginia’s Bronco Mendenhall, an alumnus.

What Jones’s next move is remains to be seen, but he’s required by his contract with Tennessee to seek out employment.

Oregon State has been down in recent years, but if Jones can keep recruiting like he did at Tennessee, he could be a good candidate for the Beavers.
