Tennessee linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin is expected to miss Saturday’s game against Georgia, according to ESPN’s Chris Low.

Reeves-Maybin experienced a sprained muscle injury in his shoulder against Ohio in Week 3 and was limited to less than a quarter of action against Florida in Week 4.

During his “Vols Calls” radio show Wednesday night, head coach Butch Jones revealed the senior linebacker “had another MRI, so we’re waiting on word from there to see how his health is progressing,” according to the Tennessean.

On Monday, Jones said he expected Reeves-Maybin to play during Saturday’s game during his Week 5 press conference.

“You have to give that young man credit. He wanted to be in the game and he even put himself back in the game on his own because it meant so much to him,” Jones said at the time. “I think with the week of recovery that he had last week he should be stronger and more ready to go this week.”

Reeves-Maybin enters Saturday’s game with 20 tackles, which is fourth among Tennessee players. The senior led the Vols in tackles during the past two seasons, recording 101 in 2014 and 105 in 2015.
